Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are all having a good week and finally catching a break from college applications. At this point I am sure you have moved on to tackling the FAFSA with your parent. Soon enough you will be receiving financial aid packages
So what happens if you do not receive enough federal financial aid from any of the schools you apply to? Luckily there are other ways to help finance your education. Private student loans are an option to consider after you know how much additional help you are going to need paying for college.
There areĀ many benefits of private student loans. Unlike federal financial aid, private student loans are based on credit. You do not have to exhibit great financial need to qualify. You, or your cosigner, just needs to have good credit. Private student loan funds can also go towards paying for expenses beyond tuition including books and room and board.
There are many different private student loan lenders. Each offer different options and benefits so it is important to compare private student loan lenders before applying.
It is probably too early to think about applying for a private student loan now, but it is definitely something to keep in mind when the time comes. There are no deadlines with private student loans so you can even wait until you are well into your first semester to apply for one.

What do you do when your parents credit score isnot good.
Can you tell me some of the best scholarships to get because i really dont want loans.
Thanks for these tips I dodn’t really know much of FAFSA & these other loans. I will take this information into much consideration.
Can’t wait to get closer to the end of the process so I will no whether or not I will have to depend private financing.
i really hope i get some scholarships, ive been unemployed this whole year and i dont have any money.
I don’t want to take out loans because later I might have trouble paying them off. I would just apply to as many scholarships as you possible can.

LOOK FOR THOSE SCHOLARSHIPS
Ive looking into financial ad and it only covers a bit so loans are a must for me but id rather get as many scholarships as i can.
I also need many scholarships. If financial aid is not enough and I do not end up with enough scholarship money, college will not happen for me.
I AGREE WITH PA KOU. LOANS ARE GOOD ONLY IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. PERSONALLY, I THINK THE LESS LOANS YOU ASK FOR, THE LESS YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PAYING BACK IN THE FUTURE. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE THE WAY TO GO. THE MORE YOU APPLY FOR, THE MORE CHANCES ARE OF YOU RECEIVING ONE! I HAVE APPLIED FOR A LOT, BUT I’M STILL GOING! HOPE I GET AT LEAST ONE! LOL

I agree with Ashton. I’m trying to get as many scholarships and as few loans as possible. I don’t want to graduate just to fall into debt.
i realy dont want to pay for college for the rest of my life.
i like the ideas of loans if you are able to pay them back after you graduate college and have a steady job.
The thought of student loans also scares me. Knowing that I’ll have to owe money back plus a little more of what was loaned to me is pretty scarey coming out from graduating without a successful job yet.
The idea of loans scares me. The thought of owing money after just graduating college with no job just doesn’t seem pleasant.
very concise. I wish I had read this a year ago.
